The Genesis Project by Miss World Botswana

Miss Botswana 2022, Lesego Chombo officially launched her Beauty With A Purpose project "The Genesis" in her hometown Maun. The project launch took place on Tuesday 28 March 2023 in Somelo Village and Wednesday 29th March in her home village Shorobe.

This official Beauty With A Purpose CSR launch has been made possible by Khoemacau Copper Mine in partnership with Air Botswana and Cresta Hotels.

Miss Botswana and the Team were thrilled to finally share the spirit of giving with the Maun Community after months of intense planning to ensure that this Project implementation is an absolute success.

The village of Somelo, with a population of just 2999, saw the impact that The Genesis would leave on the Parents and Children of Somelo. This is something our Queen hopes will be permanently engraved in the lives and hearts of Batswana as a whole.

Miss Botswana Lesego Chombo could not have achieved this impactful 2-day launch in the North-West Sub-district: Ngamiland East without the support of Khoemacau Copper mine in partnership with Cresta Hotels and Air Botswana. She expressed a heartfelt: Thank You! to The Genesis partners.

Day Two of The Genesis Project outreach was in Shorobe in Miss Botswana's home village. The project imparted the parents in the community with skills and behavioral attributes that will help them create a conducive environment for their children's mental, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. This was facilitated with the help of a psychologist, teacher, social welfare representative, and doctors who have thorough experience working with economically disadvantaged communities.

And because our Queen loves children, she ensured that they were left inspired! The Genesis Project further runs a developmental program for children comprising specialist medical checks, educational activities, validation lessons, introduction to artistry, learning musical instruments, fun, and games, the goal of which is to expose the children to a conducive environment and shape their perspective.
