Impact of The Genesis: Beauty With A Purpose Project

Miss World Botswana Brings Hope and Inspiration To The Underprivilaged

Metsibotlhoko is one of the communities that have caught Miss Botswana's heart. In Partnership with Kebabonye Business Law (Her employer in the Law fraternity), Lesego paid her first visit to Metsibotlhoko Primary School on the 6th of March to donate school uniforms to 50 students in need. The aim was also to evaluate the community's needs for the implementation of her development program at a later stage.

The Genesis Project (BWAP) founded by our Queen, aims to create a conducive environment for the development of economically disadvantaged children through a program that equips their parents with the skills and behavioral attributes that are necessary to promote their children's emotional, social, and cognitive well-being. Ultimately, this project aims to bridge the gap between the environment that children in rural and poverty-stricken homes grow up in versus that in economically stable and urban homes.

The main goal of the project is to level the playing field for children being brought up in disadvantaged communities by creating an environment that will prove to them that they too are worthy of success and they have all they need within them to pursue their dreams.

Maothate is another village in Botswana that welcomed The Genesis Project with open arms.

The primary initiative of the project is to nurture the day-to-day environment of children living in economically disadvantaged backgrounds. One of its components is engaging economically disadvantaged parents in a comprehensive developmental program.

This program is facilitated by a team of professionals consisting of a Teacher, Psychologist, Doctor, and Social Welfare Officer.

Miss World Botswana Lesego Chombo also got to offer advice from her experience of what a conducive environment consists of. The team equips parents with essential skills and tools necessary for fostering the growth of their children, even in the face of limited financial resources.
