She represented Botswana impressively in the pageant and secured notable accomplishments during the competition. Lesego Chombo emerged as one of the top 4 contestants in the 71st Miss World, showcasing her prowess in the fiercely competitive arena. Additionally, she received the title of Miss World Africa, further highlighting her achievements on the international stage

Lesego Chombo, adorned with Messika’s Akh-Ba-Ka neckpiece, her beauty, intellect, and passion for positive change, stands at the forefront of a transformative movement. Her journey, marked by the Genesis Project, echoes the impactful strides of iconic women such as Mpule Kwelagobe, Professor Sheila Tlou, Kaone Kario, and Bogolo Kenewendo.

Mpule Kwelagobe

A businesswoman, social entrepreneur, and former beauty queen. She gained international recognition by becoming the first delegate from Botswana to enter the Miss Universe Pageant, where she won the title in 1999. Beyond her achievements in the beauty pageant world, Mpule Kwelagobe is known for her contributions as the founder and CEO of the MPULE Institute for Endogenous Development, a New York City-based advocacy organization focused on Africa.

Mpule Kwelagobe is a prominent figure, celebrated not only for her beauty and intelligence but also for her dedication to social causes. In recognition of her commitment to philanthropy, she was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Kwelagobe's journey exemplifies beauty, brains, and a profound dedication to making a positive impact on her community and beyond.

Kaone Kario

A renowned Botswana model and winner of the Nokia Face of Africa modeling competition in 2005 at the age of 19. Considered one of Africa's biggest modeling exports, she has achieved international recognition for her contributions to the fashion industry. Kaone Kario has become an influential figure and has showcased her talent not only on the runway but also in grooming aspiring models, contributing to the development of the modeling community.

Beyond her modeling career, Kaone Kario is actively involved in mentoring and supporting emerging talents in the modeling industry, demonstrating her commitment to nurturing the next generation of models.

Professor Sheila Dinotshe Tlou

A distinguished figure in Botswana, known for her contributions to healthcare, HIV/AIDS advocacy, and nursing education. She served as the Minister of Health in Botswana from 2004 and has an extensive background as a nurse, specializing in HIV/AIDS and women's health. Professor Tlou is also recognized as a nursing educator.

In addition to her impactful work in Botswana, she has gained international recognition and holds significant positions globally. Currently serving as the Co-Chair of the Nursing Now Global Campaign, Professor Sheila Tlou is also the Chair of the Global HIV Prevention Coalition. Her leadership extends to various roles in global health, and she has been a key figure in advancing sustainable development goals related to healthcare.

Sheila Dinotshe Tlou's commitment to healthcare and public policy has earned her accolades, including the Princess Srinagarindra Award in 2014, acknowledging her extraordinary leadership in healthcare and social and public policy.

Bogolo Joy Kenewendo 

A prominent figure in economic diplomacy with a career spanning 15 years, covering trade and investment, finance and development, and public policy. She has held various significant roles, showcasing her expertise in these fields. Notably, Bogolo Kenewendo served as the Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry in Botswana.

Her contributions go beyond national boundaries, as she has been named the Climate Champions' Special Advisor, Africa Director, demonstrating her commitment to addressing climate-related issues. Currently, Bogolo Kenewendo holds the position of Regionalisation Director and Special Advisor.
